The system contains a normal cooling circuit and a deep‐freezing circuit. Both are supplied from a powerful compressor. The unit is equipped with a constant evaporator pressure regulator, heat exchanger, oil separator, electronics controller, defrosting heater and many other features of commercial refrigeration systems. As an optional feature up to 10 electrical fault circuits can be integrated into the system, these simulate typical problems occur on the refrigeration systems. The faults can be activated by using test lead.
EXPERIMENTAL CAPABILITIES
- Familiarization with the basic layout of a refrigeration system with a normal cooling stage and a deep‐freezing stage
- Familiarization with the key components of a refrigeration system and their function
- Fault simulation, fault‐finding and fixing
- Illustration of the cyclic process on a p‐h state diagram
- Basic thermodynamic calculations, such as refrigerating capacity, mechanical and thermal efficiency, energy balances, etc.
- Single and parallel operation of cooling stages
